What Kind of Watser is good?
As compared to city water the well water and spring water contain much amount of dissolved minerals. Since water doesn’t remove minerals form water it exchanges one mineral for another, Softened water may not enhance water conditions with respect to making ice. Water with high amount of minerals have low freezing point. The nuggets will be softer and slushier when Opal makes ice with this type of water.
We suggest using distilled water to produce good ice.
Can be installed in Cabinet
Opal can easily be installed in cabinet as long as sufficient clearance is provided for wind stream around the sides and back of the unit. We recommend clearances of 3″ around the sides and back of Opal.
Make sure that the Opal is provided with sufficient clearance otherwise in encased cabinet the rate of ice making will be reduced due to high temperate.
